I tried looking into documentation for Dual Write but cannot find anything around region availability. Is there any documentation available listing the region that someone can point me at? that would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rah

    Hi rah_barheyan,

As far as I remember it should be available in all regions, do you have troubles configuring it in your region?

I don't think it's region specific. Dual write went GA in March this year so as long as you have on latest version and have d365 apps you should be able to configure it.

    Hi Rah,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft community.

The dual-write connection has certain requirements and limitations as indicated into below documentation, but none region specific:
    docs.microsoft.com/.../dual-write-system-req

Please verify the application build version, or if the customer is on trial instances of Finance and Operations apps. Additionally, Dual-write does not support cross-company data.

Please let us know if this helps or if you need any other information, and we will be more than glad to assist further. Also, kindly mark as verified if the answer is helpful.

If there is no helpful information, then please open a Support Ticket with Microsoft to get this investigated further.

    With kind thoughts,
    Laura

Thanks everyone for answering.. I was wondering because I was getting a "Region is not supported" error on a newly provisioned FinOps environment.

Maybe that's showing because there is no corresponding Power Platform environment.

    Hi Rah,

When is this "Region is not supported" error message showing up, are you able to open the Dual Write tile? Please also check if the user is also a tenant admin. The recommendation is to setup Dual Write and entity mapping with an user who is AAD tenant admin having SysAdmin role in D365FinOps.

If the issue still persists, please open a Support Ticket with Microsoft to get this investigated further.

    With kind thoughts,
    Laura

Seems this issue I was seeing with "Region is not supported" is resolved by granting the users access to the Power Platform environment.
