Do we need setup manually Number Sequence for the AX development type?

Hi Expert ,

I am new in AX . We installed AX 2009 (5.0.593.0) development type in our local machine . I can’t find any number sequence setup in AX . I am not able to add Sales Order. Do we need setup manually Number Sequence for the AX development type?

Hi,

You need to go to Organization Administration -> Number Sequences -> Generate Number Sequences, run the wizard and all number sequences will be generated.

A fresh installation of AX has a blank database, and you need to set the system up yourself - including number sequences, posting profiles, module parameters, import/create master data etc.

Demo data is available for AX partners with a PartnerSource account, which has a generic dataset from Microsoft.

Alternatively you could restore a database from an SQL backup of an already working environment in your infrastructure, for your dev environment.

Correction:

That was for AX 2012

For setting up number sequences in AX 2009

You need to go to Basic->Setup->Number Sequences and then Wizard.
