If running Tutorial_workflow solves the problem, it seems you have a problem with the batch that should do the same thing automatically. Please check if it's running and not throwing errors.

If no batches are running, you have a more serious problem than just with workflows.

Did you make any configuration changes when it batches stopped working?

Let's take two steps back. I assume you are having trouble with your Production environment.

First of all, did you do any changes to code or AOT objects in AX? If yes, then that is most likely the cause of your problem and you should stop doing that. Follow the guide published by Microsoft about promoting code changes to Production: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh292604.aspx

You either have code that did not compile error-free, or you did not generate Full CIL which is error free.

Also when you have an error in CIL, your AIF ports might go down (red stop signs on Inbound ports), and your batches might stop executing.

Make sure you do a fresh AOT compile, and Full CIL in your Build/Staging environment, and release the AX ModelStore to your Production environment as a part of a maintenance.

If you still have errors afterwards, check if in the System administration > Setup > System > Server configuration you have a batch server ticked, if it has the correct batch groups associated, whether you have batch threads allocated to the batch AX AOS instance, and if the batch timeframe is 00:00-23:59

Have you run the workflow infrastructure configuration wizard? You need to setup your workflow message processing batch job to able to have the workflows triggering automatically

    Hi Ashok,

Make sure that, working environment has Error Free and Full CIL is generated.

Delete the Current workflow jobs from batch job.

In server Configuration, Make sure that "Is server" checkbox is marked and empty batch group or batch group is selected.

Run the Workflow configuration wizard and configure the workflow.

Then, check the workflow in form.

    Thanks,

Did you verify if the Servers is selected in the Batch group associated to the Workflow infrastructure.!!!

    Hi Ashok,

I assume you have all the required configurations to execute batch jobs are in place like the following

    i. The intended batch server is selected under the required batch group and its tied to batch job.

ii. "Is batch server" checkbox marked on Server configuration form for the intended batch server

If so, have you had a chance to check that the batch server service is up and running. If not, please check it as sometimes it might stop when password on the user account gets expired.

    Hope this information helps you.

    Thanks,

    Chaitanya Golla

For batch to run without issues, ensure you have a clean full CIL.

The use workflow infrastructure wizard to create batches for workflow
