Master scheduling is not generating Planned orders for a particular item

When a master scheduling is run for all items, planned orders are getting generated. but when a particular item is filtered and master scheduling is run, no planned orders are generated.

No settings are changed. Are there any specific settings that needs to be checked before running MS for filtered items?

I tried the hints and suggestions specified in https://community.dynamics.com/ax/f/33/t/220753?pi51736

But still it doesn't help.

Lakshmi

    Hi Lakshmi Karambakkam,

Kindly check the transactions of the item on the demand orders and it should not be reserved in any manner.

While you are running master planning for all items are planned orders getting generated for this item?

let me know how to see demand orders.

when running master planning for all items, planned orders are generated for these items also.

here is the pic of item coverage for a specific item. After master scheduling is run, pegging appears but explosion doesn't happen.

Let me know if any more info is needed.

Is there a reason you are using lean manufacturing? I believe only certain event kanbans an be used for the explosion then you have the production kanbans.

Not my area I am afraid, but I would suggest you have not configured Lean Manufacturing correctly, please look here:

ReqItemLevel table data is generated by the system when full MRP is run.

I found that one level is missing for every finished item. All the BOM items of the  finished item exists in ReqItemlevel table but where the hierarchy of level is to be assigned, one level value is missing. Like if a bom is of 7 levels, one level is missing (0,1,2,4,5,6,7)and this missing level varies for every finished item.

how to find why a level is missing?

That will depend upon the set up of the item and its configuration in the BOM, you need to look at those. Are you using phantoms, probably more to the point are you using phantoms and kanbans?

Are your items and BOM's manually entered into the system or scripted? Have you run the recalculate levels batch job?

ReqItemlevel table is empty. Recalculate levels job and reqitemlevel table data insertion happened while running whole system master scheduling for all items.

Yes, there are phantoms but for phantom items, level is assigned. All item exist but only while assigning levels, one level is skipped.

My concern is that is this one of a reason for itemized master scheduling not exploding?

As this is system generated, I do want to change the level manually, because there is a chance that this manual change might impact other finished items where the same item is used.

You cannot change the level manually and should not. Run the periodic batch job, it is separate from the tick on MP and could potentially resolve the issue of the level. However that could also be an expected outcome of the structure.

Could you answer the questions you have skipped?

    How are your items created?

Why are you using Lean as a configuration?

I would suggest manually creating a structure and not using Lean, then deciding if it is the Lean configuration or the importing of the items/BOM's that is causing the non-explosion of a level.

    Hello Lakshmi,

Why do you want to run MRP for a single item? Are you running a static plan or a dynamic plan? You must run a full static plan for all items, and there after you can run Dynamic plan for single item.

Refer the following article, this should help in explaining the difference between Static and Dynamic plan!
