Passing filter to Excel Template

Is there a way to pass applied filter(s) on the view grid to Excel Template? Example: I have filtered the view for open sales lines (to specific customer) but when I open Sales Line Integration Excel template it loads all open sales record ignoring my view grid filters/settings. Strangely enough, that simple export to Excel does take filters into consideration, but won't allow changes of course, where excel template won't.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Alex,
You can try activating "Apply current record filter" on Document table on your Excel template to check if it helps.

Thank you my friend. I actually did many templates in the past and, yes you can use filters in the excel and save it. But my issue is that the view always be dynamic and template needs to accept filters that on the grid view rather than use saved filters. I hope I'm explaining this well. Cheers.

With open in excel functionality you can do CRUD operation on excel itself. Please go through below link.

Hi. Thank you for reply but I'm not following you. The filtered grid view opens in excel with the filters applied, but that doesn't allow user to make changes and publish back to D365FO. We need an Excel template for that but templates ignore filters on the grid view. As well, different users could have different grid views saved as their own. Thank you. Alex

    Hi Alex,

Same scenario can be achieved in the "open in excel" functionality. We can apply filters runtime in the form.
