Using system table constraints to populate a Product Configuration Model BOM line

I am in the process of building out a product configuration model and am looking for a way to add a BOM line (using constraints or calculations?) by retrieving an InventTable record based on a look up of another InventTable field. I have found no way of doing this using a system OR user defined table constraint.

Does anyone have any experience or documentation on achieving this setup? I was able to do it in the old Product Builder but have not found a way to do it in the Product Configurator.

Thanks

Dan

    Hello DPerko,

Can you refer to the documentation below, and let me know if it helps you to get this resolved?  Both docs have steps for adding BOM lines, but I'm not sure if it aligns to your need of using constraints or calculations.

    Taylor -

These links don't go into enough detail to provide the answer.

I did stumble across what I needed to do in order to get my issue resolved.

    Thanks

The trick to fixing this was to add a new field to the InventTable and then create a table constraint with the ItemId and the new field.

I then created a new attribute to link the variable the user is entering to the new InventTable field. The item number is then mapped to an attribute that I am using as the BOM Item.

It is a little convoluted but it works.
