The process followed is -

Create the Event with all the details

Add multiple sessions.

Add event team member.

The organizer opens the calendar to see the session is reflected and clicks on Join.

The messages pops up - Live event has not started. Same with the team member too.

Anything missed here? Suggestions please.

    Hi Tez,

To run live event on Teams, we need to assign a presenter role to any of users.

    https://office365itpros.com/2019/12/09/assign-presenters-teams-meeting/

You can refer to following articles about live events of Teams.

Thanks for your response Clofly. How will I be able to do this in the Marketing app?

The teams live event is created in the marketing app where a team member is assigned to the event. But unfortunately the team member is unable to start the meeting.

If I add the Microsoft account user as team member , user is able to start the event, but when a specific user from my project domain is added as team member , he/she is not able to start the event. Not sure why this difference between the Microsoft user and project domain user.

    Hi Tez,

From my test, it seems that we can only assign roles in Teams.

Try assign presenter role to a specific person or yourself, and the presenter need to join the meeting.

    pastedimage1609316010105v1.png

Then check whether the team member can see live event has started.(Check whether he/she is added as participant to meeting.)

For how to set guest as presenter, please refer to this section:

How to invite a guest to present in a Live Event

    • Ensure that the guest user is added to your Teams instance. You only have to do this once. Learn more about adding guest users: Guest to present
    • As a best practice, Teams recommends that you create a channel for producers and presenters of the live event so they can chat and share information before the event. Guests who don't have Microsoft 365 credentials won't see the Calendar in Teams. To make it easy for them to join the event, producers can post the event link to the channel. Presenters can then open Teams, go to the channel, and select the link to join the event.
    • Add a guest as a presenter in your live event by adding them as a speaker in your event or session in Dynamics 365 Marketing using the steps detailed above.

Additionally, do you mean that currently meeting is still in has not started status for the guest even if the guest opens the meeting via link of marketing email or invitation email sent by Teams?

    Regards,

    Clofly

    Hi Clofly,

In short, i have added microsoft ID and another ID from my project domain as event team members to the event in marketing app.

The team member with microsoft ID is able to start the event whereas the team member who is user of my project is not able to start the meeting.

    Hey Tez,

How to get a guest to act as a producer of the meeting?

You need to add the guest user as a O365 guest to your tenant. A clear way of doing it is to create a specific channel/team for only presenters and producers and add them to this channel.

Once they are a guest in your tenant, they must (from their Teams app) switch tenants. (read reply here - techcommunity.microsoft.com/.../true

Once they have switched their tenants, they can join the meeting as a producer and start the meeting.

    Hope this helps
