Workflow on Deprecated entity.

We have a workflow for msdyn_liveconversation(Ongoing Conversation) entity.

This entity seems to be in deprecated entity list for Omnichannel for Customer Service (Deprecated Entities).
Recently around 2 weeks before it seems that there is no data pushed in  the Ongoing Conversation entity. Can I know which other entity is used instead of the deprecated one so that I can transfer the workflow for that entity.

1. I wanted to understand, when an entity is deprecated what all is impacted by it?

2. Since this entity is deprecated, there is obviously another entity which would take care of that entity. Is it the Conversations Entity(msdyn_ocliveworkitem)?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Pratiksha,

Yes, msdyn_liveconversation entity has been deprecated through following document.

Deprecated Omnichannel for Customer Service entities | Microsoft Docs

Which also give the impact of these deprecated entities: These entities will still be visible in the $metadata document but using it to access Microsoft Dataverse data is not supported.

For your second question, msdyn_ocliveworkitem is the alternative entity that provides the same functional description in the document.

Leah Ju, so this means any flow/workflow whose trigger is based on deprecated entity would also not work? And no data will be pushed into the entity?

    Hi Pratiksha

"Deprecated" means we intend to remove it in a major future release. It may continue to work until it is officially removed.

After removal, it will no longer work.  so you 'd better use sufficient time to plan and update setting about it before it is removed, which is the safer approach.

Hi, wondering if at the end you got a clear picture of wat is happening when you are using entity and this is decprecated, and if you have some hint to share. In my scenario I wish to enable power bi standard content based on entities within D365 F&O and I wish to understand which is the best practice in order to maintain the solution in mid/long term. Thanks in advance
