Email Sending in Workflow

Hi,

I need help regarding sending alerts with email in workflow. (PR Submitting/Approving will email Approvers/a User).

I have tried a Job first to see if my SMTP parameters are working (I use smtp.live.com).

The job works and have sent the email successfully.

Now I have to do this in my workflow, so i have set up the parameters and setups needed by following the instructions in this link:

All the steps are done, and when i tested it, the alerts/batch worked.

but when checking the status in SystemAdmin>Periodic>Email Processing>Email sending status, the status is "Waiting(0)" and for a minute it will become "Failed".
I have double checked all the settings needed before coming here to ask. If you have any inputs, its very much welcomed. Thanks.

Hi Fatih and Viesturs,

Thanks for the suggestions for my newbie question.

My parameters and settings are all correct, no need to change.

apparently the step needed next is Full Compile then CIL (which i forgot).

It worked after CIL and is now sending.

Sorry for my bad and Thank you guys for helping me.

Hi Xspy,

Like Fatih mentioned, check in AOT SysOutgoingEmailTable. Sometimes Sender email address gets malformed and you need to reedit to correct one. Once you done that - go back to E-mail sending status form and click "Restart Send" for those that have status failed. We had similar issue not while ago.

Hi Fatih,

I have tried email broadcast to all online user (which is only me)

and it has succesfully sent.

But still my workflow email is still Sending Failed after putting 3 times of retries.

How do i deal with this, maybe i need something.

Hi Hajish and Fatih,

Thanks for your replies.

As of the links you have gave me, it is kind of similar to mine, thus i have also tried that. It still sending failed.

I dont think my smtp setting is the problem because when i run the X++ Job code to send email, it works and sends email, which uses my smtp settings.

The only problem is when the emails sent in workflow is not continuing to send and keeps on failing.

What do you think i should see through here? thanks.

Also check:

Assigned user's e-mail settings in AX

Settings of your e-mail template and make sure you wrote the address you wrote in e-mail parameters.

And an additional information: You can setup retry schedule so AX will try a few times before mails are flagged as failed.
