Can you create and post Journal in Consolidation Company

Can you create and post Journal in Consolidation Company? I tried but failed. I just want to double check I didn't do anything wrong.

So this lead to my next question: how to add beginning balances to each main account in consolidation company?

Appreciate any help

    Hello Anna,

    Regarding your first question: You cannot create and post something in a consolidation company manually. I found it a bit wired that it is not possible because there are certainly always some manual transactions necessary for consolidation. The only workaround that I know is unchecking the consolidation company checkbox in the legal entity window, doing your postings and then activating the checkbox again. I am not sure if you really want to do your consolidation in AX as I always found it difficult to do it there. Have you considered using Management Reporter instead? On this site you can find some additional information on using Management Reporter for financial consolidation: blogs.msdn.com/.../dynamics_financial_reporting

    Regarding your second question: You can either try doing an initial consolidation or using the workaround with the activation and deactivation of the checkbox.

    Dear Ludwig,

    sorry for bringing out the old feed but I am not able to uncheck the consolidation checkbox from legal entity. The system gives an error saying "Ledger records exist for the consolidation company. You cannot change the consolidation company option."
