Hello,

I did import hierarchy organization through DIEF using entity Hierarchy Organization: when I run copy to target, it write records successfully, however I didn't see any update within Hierarchy Organization form.

Note that version is R3.

Any idea?

Regards,

David

    Hi David,

Can you elaborate? Did you use a standard entity? Did you provide a root record? Was the hierarchy empty before importing records? What does your source file look like?

    Hi Andre,

find hereby my answers to your questions:

1- yes, it is the standard entity: Organization hierarchy.

2- i did my test on Contoso VM.

3- There is a an Organization hierarchy called Department: it has a root called Project Operations (type department) that has 3 child departments, i tried to add a department "Client Services".

4- i use the following excel template:

    OrganizationHierarchy.PNG

    Regards,

    David

    HI David,

In your reply, you provided a screenshot of the hierarchy, but not the Excel template.

    Hi David,

Thanks for the notification that this question is still open. I don't have a working AX2012R3 environment available. Can you verify if you also filled the ValidFrom from the source file? This should be used to publish the hierarchy changes.

    Hi Andre,

the field ValidFrom does not exist in staging?

    kindly advice

    Regards

    David

    Hi David,

I have an environment running now. There are two entities related to Organization hierarchies:

    1) "Organization hierarchy". This would make a new draft version, but is not publishing it.

    2) "Organization hierarchies". This is having two fields as input: Hierarchy name and ValidFrom. It then tries to publish the hierarchy.

I was not able to test myself. Just now deployed this VM for own testing purposes.

    Hi Andre,

Organization hierarchy has the following fields:

Name, OMOperatingUnitType, OMUnitName, OMOperatingUnitParentType, OMParentOrganizationName, RelationshipType.

Organization hierarchies has the following fields:

    Name, ValidFrom

do you mean I should use both? using sequences within same Processing Group ?

Should I use two excel templates to upload then? or I can modify Organization hierarchy by adding ValidFrom field?

    Regards,

    David

    Hi David,

As far as I could check the logic used in the DMF related objects, one is creating a draft, the second will do a publishing. So, indeed use both.

You can either use one source file or create two separate ones. The organization name should be the same for both entities.

    Hi Andre,

I did add the two entities mentioned with the following order:

    sequence 1 = Organization hierarchies

    sequence 2 = Organizaion hierarchy

regarding the source file I did use one source; for every entity I did modify source mapping by removing fields not in source.

when I run target it creates and updates records:

the result is root node within department called: Client Services (with future published date)

It should add Client services as another node under Project Operations (refer to excel template).

Note: There is an hierarchy Organization called Department, it has the following:

    Root Node = Project Operations

    Child 1 = IT Department

    Child 2 = Finance

    Child 3 = Service Operations

I want to add Child 4 = Client Services

    Kindly advice,

    Regards

    David
