Permissions - Restricting access

Posted on by 137

Hello,

I would like to grant access to some users (Every user of the org is in the same business unit) to features in the Marketing App but restrict their access to contacts, accounts, segments, emails and send from address.

Can someone please explain in detail how to achieve this.

Thanks,

C

    Hi Nya,

Please let me explain the problem scenario here:

A large organisation with thousands of employees are integrated into D365 Marketing as Contacts.

The communications team has the authority to send emails to all Contacts and does so with targeted customer journeys.

Departments within the organisation or special interest groups within want to communicate with a smaller subset of the larger organization.  They don’t need to see all the communications the aforementioned communications team is sending (it’s a lot) – they only need to go into specific contacts/segments, etc.

We don’t want them seeing under the hood in some places (like a business sensitive email in development, that hasn’t been fired off yet) – and we certainly don’t want to give them the powers that might allow them to send a message accidentally or purposefully to all employees, when they really ought to go to our communications team if that’s their goal.

We want them to be able to use D365 Marketing, but limit the access to the contacts, marketing/subscription lists, segments, marketing emails, and customer journeys, so they can email people, and create journeys, but only to the contacts they have been given access to.

They also only need to see the emails they have created and not the emails created by other teams.

They will be given full access to the App, limited access to the scope of contacts and the communications they can see.

Please, Is this possible? and how can it be achieved?

    Thanks,

    C

    Hi C,

It can be achieved easily with creating security roles and granting different privileges to them.

Here is an example for the feature - Social Media Post.
