Creating Contacts for Customer Journey but the new list of contact have existing contacts so adding new contacts with duplicate emails is failing (Outbond Morketing)

Main goal here is- We would like to send email to 10k people with help of CJ and creating a static segment. But in the Contacts few contacts are already available from the list of 10k to which we would like to send email. Since we contacts are already present in the CRM Contacts; if we add same contact again, it is creating duplicate contacts. We would like to send email to the list of 10k people without creating duplicate contacts in CRM. 

Details- We have already 700k email ids in Marketing Contacts. We have received one list from business with 10k emails to send email to them with customer Journey by creating a Static segment.  When we tried add the new new list of 10k in the contacts to create a separate segment; emails of 10k are duplicate with few 700k original emails in the Marketing contacts. Due to that we are not able to create a separate segment of 10k contacts which we received from business.  To add 10k contacts with excel import in Contacts list, due to duplicate detection rules, duplicate contacts are not getting uploaded on CRM. If we remove the email duplicate detection rule to add the 10k contacts, two duplicate contacts are getting created in CRM's Contacts. 

Could someone guide me on how to create a separate static segment of 10k contacts even though there are duplicate contacts are present already in the contact list of CRM.

    Hi partner,

      You can try to remove the email duplicate detection rule first to import all contacts , and then add a field to the contacts table to represent the ones imported from Excel, set the value to true. Then the contacts with the filter value of true are added in the static segment

    Thank you Leco Lv and appreciate your response. I have tried the above option already. When, i did remove the email duplicate detection rule to import the contacts; It is creating two email ids. For example- if I have john.smith@abc.com already in the Contacts and i remove email duplicate detection rule to bring other 10k contact in that also I have john.smith@abc.com as a part of new contact list of 10k. In that case, since email duplicate detection rule is removed; two contacts with same email id john.smith@abc.com are getting created.

    Hi partner,

     Maybe I didn't write too much detail before, what I mean is that you can create a choice field in the contact form  to prepare for the next filtering.

     Then add a column in the excel you are going to import, the name of the column is the same as the field added in the contact interface.

     Next import excel to “all contacts” (allow duplicates).

     Now you can pass the filter criteria(import from excel = Yes) to create a segment you want.

     Contacts imported and contacts already exist in the system, even if they have the same name or email address, they can be separated by this condition(import from excel).
