Cost category Error in route

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi,

I am getting the Cost category has not been specified error when I close the Route form. When I look at the setup tab, All the 3 Setup, Process and Qty category are setup correctly [This is populated when we select the resource group under the requirements tab]. When I close the form, I am getting the above said error.

When I open the route form again, I am not getting any error. Have anyone come accross this error. If so please help me to resolve this bug.

I am working in 2012 R2.

    SYMPTOMS

When you estimate a production order, you may receive one of the following error message combinations:

Cost category has not been specified.
    Price calculation has been aborted.

    -OR-

Cost category has not been specified.
Price calculation for item ‘item number’ has been canceled.

    CAUSE

These errors may occur if the Route Cost Categories were set up incorrectly for the item number.

    RESOLUTION

Make sure the Cost Category fields are correctly populated for this item.

    1. Click Production, click Route, click the Route button, and click Setup.

    2. Make sure the Cost Category fields are correctly populated for this item.

Note    Production orders take a snapshot of the Bill of Material (BOM) and Route when the order is created. Therefore, you may also want to make sure the Production Route is set up correctly.
