Unable to register Create Plugin on userform Entity

Hi Folks,

I have recently came across a requirement which now requires me to create a plugin validation on User Created Dashboards. As per the documentation, there is a entity called userform which keeps the information regarding users personal dashboard perhaps, the problem is, I am unable to register create message on the entity though, the documentation says that Create Message is allowed..

would someone have any information about that??

    Hi,

    I can see we can't register a step for userform entity for Create Message.

    However you can register steps for other messages like Update, Retrieve, Delete, GrantAccess etc.

    I am not able to find any proof or reasoning in the documentation, however I'm experiencing same behavior.

    On the other hand, instead of plugin, you can use Flow.

    I tested an Automated flow which triggers on creation of User Dashboard (userform) entity record and it works like charm, however if you are looking for synchronous (real-time) validation, i'm afraid we are out of luck here.

    Anyhow, if you elaborate you requirement, i may suggest a workaround.

    Thanks Wahaj for looking into this. Unfortunately, the Async would not work.

    The scenario is, In power platform, users can create their own dashboards. However, the requirement is to prevent them to create certain types of resources on Dashboard e.g. An IFRAME, POWER BI report etc.

    OOB dashboards have few  icons  www.websan.com/.../Dash_4.png  that people can click and Create/associate resources.

    I have been able to control the ribbon. However, the section on Dashboard with link icons is something I have not been able to control. Hence, thought of a plugin which can notify user on save of a dashboard.

    Hope this clears the requirement.
