Hi all. I have to set up 2 business units in the Marketing app, one for the Sale to Businesses department and another one for Sale to Individuals.
The Contacts should have unique email addresses across the 2 units, but there might be some exceptions, for example, when an individual uses his personal email address for his own company.
In this case, there will be duplicate records in the system, one for each department.
My questions is, what happens when someone wants to unsubscribe for example, from the Sale to Individuals department? Will the system know to pick up the record belonging to that unit?

Hello,
The system will use the actual record you have passed along (i.e the record that reaches out to unsubscribe, depending on your campaigns), so if that record belong to a given BU, then only that record will be unsubscribed.
Duplicated records have unique Contact ID, although they might have the same email address or other values (i.e. two different contacts can share same email and other fields).
