Switch between environments (sandbox and prod) within Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

All users have Dynamics 365 App for Outlook connected successfully to prod instance.  Both environments are under the same tenant.  I am wondering if I can change the environment for a couple users so we can test a feature while keeping the prod environment for most others, then change back again at a later time.

Thank you!

    Hi cjanow3,

I would strongly recommend using dedicated test users and test mail boxes, where the exchange is always connected to the test environment and all prod users remain connected to the prod environment. I assume that you do not want to track your prod emails, tasks or contacts to a test environment.

If this answer has been helpful for you, please mark as verified.

    Best regards,

    Hi cjanow3,

Were you able to get a solution for this issue? I am kind of in the same boat.

Your query is quite relevant for many working with Dynamics 365. For such changes, it's best to consult a dynamics crm expert. They can assist you in configuring the environment for specific users without risking the production environment. CRM experts have the knowledge and experience to manage different environments smoothly and can offer best practices for testing new features. This allows you to safely test new capabilities while minimizing risk to the main operational environment.
