Cost Prices on BOM Journal Lines

Hi all,

I'm at a client who's still on the original release of AX2012, setting up basic BOM functionality for them. I've created my BOM version, and the cost price for the BOM item has calculated correctly based on the cost prices of the components. However, when I create the BOM journal entry to assemble the finished BOM, the cost prices of a number of BOM lines haven't pulled though into the journal? What have I missed?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Have you activated the calculated BOM Prices and can you identify a cost price in the item master? If that is the case, the prices should default.

    Hi,

Yes, the calculated cost price for the finished BOM is correct, active and visible on the Manage Costs tab of the Item Card. All cost prices for the component parts are adding in correctly.

However, when I create a BOM journal entry, cost prices for only 2 of the 6 lines of the BOM pull through onto the journal lines, so the cost amount for the finished BOM item is understated compared to the actual cost price of the BOM? I must be missing a setting somewhere?

    Hi,

Are the 4 lines somehow different (non-stocked Service items, included in a sub-bom/Phantom bom)?

I found the issue, the cost price model on the Calculation group for the items was set to item purchase price, and the items in question had no purchase prices set up on the item master.

Thanks for your help though :-)
