Entity created for Business Process Flows???

Hi all,

I noticed that whenever I activate new Business Process Flow(BPF) in Dynamics 365 enterprise, a new Entity is created and published. It has same fields as ones that BPF uses, it is searchable, can not be customized.

Is this bug or feature and what would be usage of it? I didn't noticed this in earlier versions. Looks bad to see more entities in e.g. Advanced Find.

Side question: is this still right place for asking Dynamics questinos or I should go to Dynamics Enterprise community (which is pretty dead).

    Hello Nikica,

As per the latest information which is been published regarding Business Process Flows:
"One major change is that for every Business Process flow you have, you’ll see these show up in native Security Roles in a Business Process Flow tab.  From this tab you’re able to provide Create/Read/Write/Delete/Append/Append To permissions to your BPF.    This is because going forward, every business process you create and activate becomes a table in the database just like any other entity. Every instance of that process (applied to a record) is a row in the table."

This ultimately means that whenever you create a new Business Process Flow an Publish it it will create a new entity under components.
I have noticed this behavior in our upgraded instance.

So this is by design and nothing to be worried of.

Refer the following link for more details:

But as you are upset with more entries getting added because of this you can always suggest a Product Suggestion to Microsoft from this link: connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions

    Thx Varadarajan,

    you explained it.

I'll probably suggest to at least make display name of the new entity editable, so that I cah change it to appears on the end of the list.

    br,

    Nikica

I managed to change name of the Business Process Flow Entity with XRMToolbox->Easy Translator.
