Hierarchy of Documents in NAV

Hi,

I am a new NAV User.

I would like to understand what's the hyerarchy of documents in NAV.

IN the specific, what can I do in a Warehouse Shipment, if at least 1 Sales Order related to at least 1 item in the Warehouse shipment is being modified.

Is the Warehouse shipment blocked ? I suppose so, but I would like to understand.

Thanks

In Standard Navision, you cannot create a warehouse shipment if the order is open but if the is reopen after it is created and if you try to release the warehouse shipment it does not validate it BUT if you try to post the warehouse shipment with order open then it will throw an error asking to release the order.

In short you cannot post shipment if the order is OPEN.

I am sorry, probably I was not clear.

The system used is NAV 2013.

The issue is that Logistic people complain because they say Warehouse shipments cannot be released if Sales Order are OPEN. Also they say modification are made on sales order lines, referring to warehouse shipments.

My knowledge of NAV says that you can modify order lines, as long as not included in any warehouse shipment.

But I do not know what happens if you try to release a warehouse shipment while orders are open.

Can you clarify me a bit about this point ?

    Thanks

When you mentioned item is being modified, what is being modified ?

If you modify the item card after it is entered on the sales order then it will not update those on the order it does not affect the already entered orders.
