Trigger Logic Apps from "creating an employee" within HR

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi all,

we want to initiate an workflow running outside of HR to take employee data (freshly created after signing the contract) and hand them over to our Identity and Access Management System. We were thinking about logic apps to implement that. Do you know if we can use a connector or another integration possibility to get 1) the trigger event when the employee is created in HR and 2) get out the main employee data (Name, Role) to use them in the IAM.

Any help is appreciated

    Hi André,

thanks for your help. Yes, I think too: as long as we have no triggers within HR talent its maybe a better idea to export them in a report once a day and continue with the export.

    Hi Nicu,

thanks for your response. I will have a look for Flow as well.

    Hi Peter,

Using Logic Apps or Power Automate might be a bit cumbersome without trigger. I assume the business events like Finance and Operations has is not (yet) available on Human Resources. Data entities usually don't have a created date field enabled.

In that case, you can export the Worker entity with change tracking to an own Data Lake. Then you are able to use a created date to filter new employees in Logic Apps or Power Automate.

    Hi Peter,

you can do that, but maybe you can use Power Automate (Flow) for these scenarios. In Power Apps you can use an existing connector or create one from scratch to connect between CDS and your Access Mngm Sys. and the data will be exchanged between these two using Power Automate.

    best regards,
