AX user cannot connect to AOS server

Hello,

AX client machine reported a connection issues when starting AX

"The Microsoft Dynamics X client cannot be started because more user are connected to the system than are allowed by the license"

And, I did research and found some links that suggested to drain user client in a cluster AOS.

I'm not sure what the best option to resolve this kind of issues.

The environment is MS Dynamics AX 2009 with 2 AOS in clustering.

Please would someone let know if I missed any.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you,
Edwin

RE: AX user cannot connect to AOS server

Ax 2009 licenses are concurrent so at some point you may have more users wanting to use the system than available licenses, so either you don't have enough licenses, or those licenses are being hogged by some other account for some reason..

Is this user always unable to access,?

Have you tried from another machine?

If some other users logs out then does access then work? e.g out of working hours.

Do you have users who just leave their system permanently logged on with no timeout which stops other users accessing?

From the above only Deepak's advice is the only relevant, draining would just disallow new sessions to be logging in.

Shut down AX AOSes, clean up your SysClientSessions table in SQL (truncate table), start AX, then try to run the client.

If this does not help, the other option could be that you have exhausted your license indeed. Check if it is not expired, or if you are not trying to connect with more users than you are licensed for.

Go to SysAdmin and Users and see if there are any sessions lingering.
