Portals: use default language if no translation available for snippet

Hi everyone,

I would like portals to use English language snippets where no translation for a specific language is available yet.

I know I can add a "default" tag showing a specific text in case the snippet is not available, but this would require to hard-code the text inside the code. Is there any way to specify a default language which will be used in case a translation for the current language is not available?

One more related question: is there any way doing the same with web pages? If all texts are located in snippets, in many cases there is no reason to have different code for each language's web page. This is very disturbing in case of code updates meaning that you have to copy and paste the change for each language-version of that page. However Dynamics does not allow me not to populate the language field for a web page. Is there any trick to make the system always use for example the English version of a web page, localizing the snippets only?

Thank you and regards
Peter

    Hi,

Is setting the environment language effective for you?

I managed to resolve it: just remove the language tag from the snippet (which is possible) and it will use the snippet without language in case no text for that specific language is available.
