Does this work only for the Azure ML Studio (Classic) web service deployments? because for the new Azure ML (new) web service deployments details don't get populated in the CI custom models interface.

Our current Custom Models integration does only support AML Studio Classic deployments, but we're working on support for the new Azure ML web service. We'll publish more information as we make progress on this effort. Keep an eye out for our release notes as well as the documentation you linked to above.
