SOP line item level update

Hello,

I had integrated (Integration Manager) a large amount of SOP's ( non inventory items ). SOP posting is setup to post accounts from the customer. Before the integration, only AR and Sales accounts were inputted. COGS and Inventory were left blank. After the integration the batch edit list shows an error "Distribution account(s) are missing or invalid."

To fix this problem and to be able to post this batch I need to update accounts for COGS and Inventory. The problem I have is: how to make this  update for a few hundred SOP without typing account numbers in a each single one?

Thanks for your help.

Darek

For a basic non-technical approach, you could create a macro to macro the accounts in.

Search for "Importing data into Dynamics GP using macros" there are lots of sites that show the process for recording and mail merging macros for data import.

A partner or GP consultant may be able to do some back end manipulation, but give macros a go first.

    Hi,

Since they are non-inventory items, you might set a constant in Integration Manager to any account you wish (for future imports). Since they are non-inventory items, you will never post an amount to those accounts. To be sure, you could use a suspense account that is reconciled at month-end.

The macro route suggested by Tim is a great solution for those that you have already imported. I would use the Distribution Work table as my source in Integration Manager so that I didn't have to deal with a data source that could contain errors (like an Excel spreadsheet or a text file).

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
