Dear sir,

i m having problem in my DMF so have to upload data through excel publishing..i have an excel sheet which have to upload through DMF..but DMF is not working...so i have to publish my data...will all fields same in excel and DMF??? or there is differece so how can i know the exact table of excel match with DMF Field

Could you please elaborate your question ? Please tell us what exactly are you doing ? What error do you have or why do you think DMF is not working ?

hi,

Try creating a sample with the source data format as excel .

Then modify the data in the sample file and test .

dear anitha....i know this way....i m finding some tables & fields of DMF which have same values in Excel (dynamics add in tables)....i just want to know ...how can i do it...like SalesID is the table in DMF field in which we entered sales number....if i have to publish data through excel add..where i can find the field of salesID....

Hi Yasir Shahzad,

You can generate sample file from DMF entity and than populate required fields, please refer this step by step guide

Do you want to publish data from excel sheet to DMF staging table ? It does not make any sense for me, however, all DMF tables starts from DMF, for example, for salesTable DMF staging table is "DMFSalesTableEntity".

Simply put, you will not be able to fully understand it without a help of a developer.

The reason being is that DMF uses something called Entity, which can represent one or more tables at the same time. Also an Entity can have custom code, so for example when you import an item with the Product entity, it does populate a lot of records in various tables (InventTable, EcoResProduct, InventTableModule, etc.) using the business logic behind.

A staging table for the entity is using a Query, where these tables are defined. As Ievgen suggested, you may try to find the DMF staging tables and their respective queries in the AOT, and make smart guesses based on that, but to be sure what fields and tables are exposed, you will need technical staff who has experience with DIXF.

If I would have to find which DMF entity uses SalesTable.SalesId like in your example, I would build cross-references in my environment, navigate to AOT\Data Dictionary\Tables\SalesTable\Fields\SalesId > Right click > Add-ins > Cross-references > Used by, and find the DMF tables and queries in the list.

Hi Yasir,

When reading the question and all replies, I'm getting more and more confused what exactly you are trying to achieve. You are probably mixing the word 'field' and 'table'. You are questioning about DMF (DIXF is official short for Data Import Export Framework) and then send a screenshot of the Excel add-in. DIXF and Excel add-in are two completely different concepts.

Please take the time to write your question providing the correct details.

Dear Andre...i m not mixing the Question...we have two option to put data in ax ....publishing through excel or DIXF....in DIXF we generate a sample file...like sales order file...sales order is known as Salesid.....i just want to know that if i publish data through excel...then what will be the name of SalesId of DIXF in excel...hope you understand...

if you not get my point...tell me
