We had a pretty big problem with this function, but since it is a setting the user chooses there is no way to globally shut it off. Instead, we modified the source code to always save the user 'duplicate timecard' setting to 'No' (regardless of user selection) and to default the value to 'No' even if there is no saved setting. The modification itself is fairly simple, but it does stick you with a maintenance burden long-term as you would expect.
