After applying the Canadian payroll year end update to Great Plains and Diamond the a certain report displays a "Symbol already defined" error when run. After further investigation it appears the issue only happens when a specific Table is added to the report.
GP Version: 18.3.1200
Diamond Version: 18 build 3401
I've enabled the DEXSQL log with no luck in finding the issue.
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.
Hi Shane,
This looks like a problem related with the custom report provide by Diamond Municipalities (a Canadian ISV/VAR that provides custom payroll code for GP).
Here is a link that might help :
As there are multiple sources for the problem that can cause this, your best bet is to contact the VAR / ISV directly.
I have now done just that. Thanks Lucas
Just out of curiosity, what does "Symbol" refer to regarding reports? Is it a field, table name, stored procedure? Couldn't find much information on this in general.
Thanks again.
Hello Shane,
As this is a custom report, you would actually want to reach out to the developer of the report for support on this. I can leave the forum post up for the GP Community to comment on, just in case someone else has run into this issue, but I really wouldn't be able to review the report files.
I am sorry that I couldn't help more than that.
Regards,
Hi Lucas,
The report is a Diamond Municipal one and it's called "Changed Pre-Authorized Payments Report" The table added the report is the "S_Paperless Customer Enrollment Master." The default report is also generating the Symbol Already Defined error. Are we able to attach files to this forum as I could attached the package file for the report.
Thanks.
Hello Shane,
Thank you for your post. Would you be able to tell me exactly what report and what table are you adding to the report? If you use the default Dynamics GP report, does the issue occur?
