Hi guys

This problem has been driving us nuts for weeks and we are now fast approaching the deadline for when this needs to be addressed.

Problem: I deploy and process the cubes via the SSAS Deployment Wizard within the AX GUI.  I go through the process for deploying the initial DynamicsAX cubes.  The start to deploy but about 3 minutes later they stop.

We get the following message.

Server: Operation completed with 8 problems logged.

One or more errors were encountered in the MDX script.

We also get this error message:

Errors occurred while processing the Analysis Services database: Dynamics AX initial

I am assuming both are related?  Anyway when I check SSAS in SQL Server Management Studio the Cube folder was created under databases but it seems it contains no data as when we try opening the cube in excel is can see the database but there is nothing.

Under Analysis Services Servers in System Administrator the Server selected is the local server as this is where we wish to deploy them.

We have another client who we have deployed the cubes for successfully.  I have tried replicating/mirroring the set up and permissions etc but nothing seems to be working.

If anyone could help that would be brilliant!

Many thanks in advance!

Paddy

Have you try open the SSAS project in visual studio, then deploy/process from visual studio? I wonder if you'd get different (and hopefully more helpful) error messages.

    Hi paddy,

Did you ever get a resolution to these issues as I am having similar problems.

    Hi Paddy,

Did you ever get this resolved, we're on CU8 and as soon as we update to add our financial dimensions we get this very same issue.  Can't find any tech doc which covers issue?

    Any pointers gratefully received.

    Regards

    Paul

It's been a while since I've seen this error, but I believe it is resolved by checking to add Foreign currency support when going through the configuration/update wizard.

Apologies for not updating this sooner.

It has obviously been some time now since we had this issue so I cannot remember the exact fix.

However I recall it had something to do with the cubes in the deployment wizard needing to be deployed in a specific order (which was not the order as they are listed in AX)

Once we did that it worked fine.

    Cheers,

    Paddy
