Hi All,

We configured a workflow with email using web link placeholder as %Workflow.Link to web%. But it is throwing below issue.

The specified record query failed to apply and the form can't be opened.

Does anyone know what is the issue and how to solve this.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Satya,

The weblink was added from Insert Placeholder option? can you re-do that?

Also, can you check if there is any VPN or browser issue which is stopping user to open the Dynamics link?

    Hi Satya,

For which workflow type did you setup the workflow? Do you have this issue for one instance or all workflow instances?

    Hi Andre,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    It is a custom workflow.

Issue is coming for all custom workflow types. but standard purchase requisition workflow is working fine.

Can you pls let me know, do we need to add anything in the workflow customization for weblinks.

    Hi Satya,

I don't know how the custom workflows are created. I would suggest to compare the design and code with e.g. the purchase requisition workflow.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for the suggestion, I found the root  cause of the issue after debugging.

The actual cause of the issue is "Form does not allow root navigation, record query cannot be applied." So it didn't display correct error message.

I fixed the issue by changing the menu item property as shown in the below screenshot

    Hi Satya Santosh,

Could you tell me how you were able to find the root cause?

I'm currently facing the same issue when clicking the URL in the email notification.

    Error-msg.JPG

This issue only happens when custom alert created in Work Order page of Asset Managment module is triggered.

I have tested the same scenario in All vendors page but couldn't replicate the above error.

Any comment will be very appreciated.
