HI,
Could you please show me how to create a tree that NOT INCLUDE BRANCH? I'm TRYING TO CREATE a TRIAL BALANCE that NOT INCLUE BRANCH in that report?
We have to branches, BUT ONLY NEED TO HAVE acct and department with OUT BRANCHES.
Thanks,
Annie
Thanks
When creating a tree, you can use or not use any of the dimensions. I'm assuming Account is defined in the row. You could also define Department if the row if you want. Alternatively, you could create a tree based on Department. To not filter by Branch, simply don't define the Branch dimension in the tree. In this scenario, all units would have the Department regardless of the Branch. If you only want accounts that don't have Branch defined, add a blank filter to the tree unit such as +Branch = [ ]. A blank filter will restrict that unit to accounts that don't have Brach codes defined. This isn't used too often with standard dimensions as most GP setups have codes for all dimensions (Microsoft Dynamics GP -> Tools -> Setup -> Company -> Account Format **compare to** Cards -> Financial -> Account -> Lookup ). The blank [ ] functionality was designed with AA dimensions in mind but it works for standard dimensions as well. Hope that helps!
