In new WMS R3 solution how it's possible to release a partial quantity of a sales order?

From the header if I click "realease to warehouse", all sales line and their quantity are released.

Hello Magdalena,

Have you tried this functionality?

I tried to use it but it did not work for partially releasing the SO.

It seems like, this functionality is just a condition to determine minimum requirements for releasing a SO.

What I have is a sales order with 2 pieces of item A and I only want to pick and ship one piece of it.

My environment is AX2012 R3 CU8 and I already tried the Accounts receivable parameters' warehouse management setup.

Many thanks Ivan and Ventsislav for your responses. It should work then as the client expects. I will test the process in CU8, as so far I have been playing mainly with RTM, and see if we can use mentioned functionality.

If you tick the check-box I mentioned above on the Warehouse ("Reserve when orders are released by a batch job"), the system will try to reserve everything that it can before it proceeds with the release. It will only decide if it should try to release All quantity or Physical reserved quantity at a later point in time, after it has tried to reserve

In Automatic release of SO, we can select All quantity or Physical Reserved quantity. So, if they don't use automatic reservations, they will not be able to select just the available physical quantity. That's why I suggested some kind of modification.

Even without auto reservation the functionality is available through that periodic function of automatic release of sales orders.

it is only not available for transfers

Hi Magda,

I suppose you don't reserve automatically, otherwise you have the partial release of reserved items functionallity available in CU8. If you don't want to reserve automatically, you may think of a small customizations in Warehouse management --> Common --> Release to warehouse form or in Warehouse management --> Periodic --> Automatic release of Sales orders

Hi Ivan,

as we need to be able to give the users an ability to release SO to the warehouse when either there is a delivery schedule created against the line or in a case where only a partial quantity is available and therefore SO line cannot be shipped in full, I would be very happy to know the workaround we could implement in the interim.
