Change in address does not update transaction records.

Hi firstly thank in advance to answering my queries.

Our Dynamics 365 is set up in the following way.

We have the standard client contact which store the client name & address

We have transactional records say invoice that will copy the address from contact at point of record creation.

How can we design Dynamics 365 in sich a way that when the contact is updated old invoices will also have their addresses updated.

You will need to setup a workflow that triggers on change.  This will not do it by themselves.

Agree with Beth, there is no standard/out of box way to achieve this. You need to write custom code for this. Alternatively you can use Dynamics 365 Workflow tools which has an activity step to update child record.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi partner,

If you want to synchronize the address of invoices and contacts,You could refer to the following ways.

    1.WorkFlow

Here are some samples about how to set field value from one entity to another.

    2.Mapping Filed

Mapping Fields can save your time if you are frequently qualifying leads or creating new contacts from an account record, for example. When you map a field, it carries the data over from one record in an entity to another record in a different entity.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/customize/map-entity-fields

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

    Leo
