social profile in case entity

Hi,

For my case entity, there will be records pushing from other third party vendor. 
While they pushing, they will pass social profile id (which is a lookup field in case entity) also. In CRM, we have social profile entity, but we cannot able to add records into it. I am confusing how the social profile entity sync with case entity. Can anybody help me in understanding these ?
