how to do some field read only through Excel add-in in d365FO?

Want to do some field read only in excel file while I export excel file through mydataentity and user cannot be enter value in some field. My Requirement is Some field in exported Excel file should be read only not all file fields are read only.

Where do you want the fields to be read only?

In open in excel functionality?

Hi Syed,

you can use the AllowEdit property in the entity field, the default value is "Auto", it means that the field inheritence that property from the related table, what you can do is to change te value to "No", in the Excel is still editable, but the changes won't be updated in the entity

You can set the allow edit property for the required fields on the data entity as mentioned by Mariano Gracia .

Hi Syed,

There is also an option to manage this with security. You can set deny permissions for updates on individual fields from entities.
