Inventory On-Hand with no license plate on a license plate tracked location - Enable warehouse setup

Yes so, as the subject describes, I have a little issue.

We had a warehouse that did not have warehouse management setup, this was to be used as an external warehouse and everything was working fine. Then the purchasing department decided that they wanted to put purchase orders towards that warehouse and therefore set up transfer orders to and from the warehouse with the MP functionality, no big deal. A super user made a transit warehouse, or rather used an old one, which ofcourse was WMS enabled, requiring LP for Inbound location on that transit warehouse.

Since they do not want to transfer the items to a license plate before shipping the TO we gave them the option to enable warehouse setup, showed them how to enable WMS by running the enable warehouse setup, setup wave templates, work templates, location directives, to use mobile menu items and then they where to execute this task.

A week later we get a call where they are saying they still can't pick inventory to a TO and that the menu item "Pick TO" is asking for a license plate, even if they scan the location, enter the item number and qty. No big deal, until I go through the enable warehouse management setup and see that they changed the location profile of where the inventory was stocked from picking (Non license plate tracked location) to a BULK location (with license plate tracking). So, to the problem, we now have inventory with no license plate on a license plate tracked location, every time we try a movement, pick, TO, SO, counting, adjustment, work, turning of license plate tracked location parameter will not work since we have inventory on locations with this parameter on and etcetera, we get update failed error: "License plate must be specified for this location. Update has been canceled." InventDim has no LP, no transactions with LP tied to it. Simply there exists no LP for those items. Given the nature of InventDim we can not simply run a script on the SQL to update license plate on that RecId either since this could cause more problems.

So now, sorry for the long explanation, I am open to any idéas or if anyone has run into a similar problem? We have contacted MS support as well and they are looking into it, but it has been over a week now and the suggestions they've come up with are only creating new records with inventory e.g. SO's and so on. I need to be able to get to the inventory I already have on-hand.

when sending and receiving warehouses are not adv warehouse enabled then should have the transit also follow the same

One of the way to remove the flag either via a script or use data import by turning off validations at entity level

We wrote a script to replace Location profile ID and sent it to MS to execute. After execution the location and the items worked as before. Problem solved
