Contact Lookup values not being saved

I have a Contact Lookup in the Case record (Staff Contact). This is populated at the initial Case creation. When the Case is saved for the first time, the Staff Contact value is not retained. Populating the Staff Contact lookup again, after the initial save, the Staff Contact value is retained. Does anyone have an idea why this behaviour is happening? Hithertoo, this field has always worked correctly.

    Hi ChrisCroft,

I agree with you. Could you provide your form setting with some screenshots? I would try to reproduce it on my side.

    Hello Steve

Many thanks for your suggestion. There are several business rules that operate on the Case, but none that affect that particular field, and none that have been added or amended in recent days. The Case was working fine until yesterday.

Just as another point, there are several other Contact lookups on the Case (Client, Client Referrer, Patient, etc), none of these are affected with the same condition. My inclination is that it is a form issue but tracking it down is proving challenging.

    many thanks again

    Chris

    Hi ChrisCroft,

This is a wired thing. Please check that do you create any workflow/plugin to update your case record triggered when a case is created.
