On-hand Inventory button - does it exist?

Posted on by 72
Hi All

But I can't find it in Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Did it get culled / never existed / over written?

Apparently, it was supposed to show as a new button in quotes, orders & invoices which would help us immensely but I can't find it.  Maybe it wasn't in Business Central?

Does anyone know about this magic button?

Thank you

Katarina

    Hi Katarina,

I am just trying to understand before I suggest you something.

    Is my understanding correct -

    1. A New button available in Sales Quote Screen, when user clicked on it.
    2. When user clicks that button, a new page opens which allow user to enter item no and select company.
    3. Once these details are entered screen shows available inventory for item in the selected company.
(* if no company specified it displays inventory of current company).

    Is there anything else?

    Regards,

    Hi Saurav

we are after a way that we can have an inventory forecast for the quotes. For individual lines it is simple by looking under details but for quotes with 50+ lines it is cumbersome.

We are aware that quotes are just a proposal and cannot be relied upon but at the time of quoting it would be could to know if we can deliver within 10 days or 12 weeks.

    Does that make sense?

    Hi Katarina,

Based on the article that you have added it seems in D365Sales it was pulling inventory value from CDS.

Are you looking to get the inventory from same BC Database for selected company and have values displayed to you?

    Regards,

    Hi All

thank you for the time to reply. We are aware of all the functionalities you have listed but neither is helpful in the quote scenario of up to 200 lines.

Martin answered the question, just not the way I wanted to hear it.

    But I appreciate our time.

depending on the scenario, the item availability by function can be found in multiple places. If you on a sales order, You can go to the line function and find it there. this way, it's easy to find out how item inventory is kept in BC.

To add more information, you can also view the on hand inventory by going to the Item List and selecting one of the following actions:

You can also create a filter in the Item List to view on hand inventory. You can then save this filter to re-use it.

    Hello KHayston,

You can use the 'factbox' panel on the relevant pages, there are details on inventory based on the selected sales line.

The article is about Finance and Operations, which is different product than Business Central.
