Hi All! In AX 2012, is there a way to schedule Sales Orders of type Subscription to automatically invoice every month? So basically, is there a way to automate subscription sales orders?

Yes. I believe you can do that. subscription type is used  for recurring orders. When the order is invoiced, the order status is set automatically to open order. Quantity delivered invoiced and remaining deliveries are updated.

    Hi Raj,

What I would actually like to know is if it is possibly to automate the process, the way a recurring Free Text Invoice can be automated..

    Hi Antoinette,

Thank you for submitting your inquiry to the Community.

One option that you could look into would be to create a job that executes at a specific time to do the invoicing for you.  Not sure how involved this would be but it is the only thing that I can think of to point you towards.

Please post back if the Community can be of further assistance.

    Have a great day!

    Hello Antoinette,

we use the subscription orders for invoicing service items monthly. To do so, we created a sales order pool that is assigned to the particular sales order. Then we created a batch job in Accounts receivable\Periodic\Sales update\Invoice.
Through "Select" we define the parameters. We select the Sales order pool: for example "TEST-SUB" , with Status: "Open order", "Delivered" and Stopped: "No". And through the Button "Batch" we can create the batch job and the intervals, when the subcription orders should be invoiced (most of the time "Monthly").

After every invoice the order status will still be "Open order" until the the subcription order gets canceled.

    I hope this helps.

    BR Mario
