hello all,

Please help me out,

One of our client is having this requirement i.e they are using 12 standard boxes for creating packages(8*8*8 inches, 8*10*12 inches these are box dimensions) If you want I will share the total 12 boxes dimensions

my requirement is depending on the line items in the sales order, I have to select one box using code

Can someone share some logic to find this, or is there any external api available for these problem

Hi,

Really difficult requirement.

What you need at least, are the dimensions of the Item Unit Of Measurement.

Have a look in Table 5404, Fields "Length", "Width", "Height" and "Cubage". These fields are not visible by default through the Item Page.

You could start by calculating the cubage, and when you have a selection of fitting boxes, you could sanity check against the maximum dimensions.

But, I doubt that it is possible to calculate how the single items are packed into a box.

I mean, for example, I can fit 3 or 5 items into one box based on how I pack (and how much packing material I use etc.)
