excel data connector lookup values

Hello,

I'm using Microsoft Dynamics Office Add-in to update data in the custom entity and push changes back to FO.

Could you pls point me to the right direction if it's possible to show lookup values in data connector somehow?  I need lookup values to be available for custaccount in dataconnector on the right-hand side like it's working out of the box with enum values or date values. So that I could choose account value from right-hand side and not enter it manually. I created a relation on the customer entity but it didn't help. the list is empty. is it doable at all and if yes what should be the approach?

Thanks.

    Hi Azat,

There is documentation about adding lookup values for Financial Dimensions. I have not tried myself to use the instructions for other entities, but you can give it a try yourself and see if that works: Add lookup values for financial dimensions to Excel templates - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs

    Hello Andre,

I've read through the article. thanks. Also I found this one

    community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-enable-lookup-for-a-field-in-open-in-excel-for-dynamics-365-finance-and-operations

it's said there that only relation should be created on the entity and that's it. I tried to create the relation but the system doesn't react. The lookup doesn't show up.

    Hi Azat,

When you created the relation, did you also do a build of the full model (not only the solution/project) and a DB sync?

To my best understanding Excel addins don't support lookup values from its master table.

I have solved the issue. I created relations on the entity but towards tables (not entities) and the system allowed to do that but lookups didn't work. When I created relations towards entities(not tables) then lookups began to work. Maybe it would be helpful for someone else in the future.
