Hello,

In Nav 2009 R2 how do people identify Contacts that are inactive  - i.e. Have left the company, you do not want to delete them as they have history, but do not want to contact them in the future, there appears to be no standard way of identifying these Contacts which is strange for CRM?

Thanks both, you have confirmed what i had suspected, as an end user i cant add a Boolean so this will have to be chargeable work but this looks the best way & maybe in the interim use the Profile Questions & have a report to view this field? - although ideally the user wants to see from the contacts List view if they are active or not.

You should use any kind of "segmentation" and apply a filter (if you want to use the standard functionality). For example, create a "mailing group" for inactive contacts, or something like that.

The other solution is add a new "boolean" field, and check if the contact is inactive or not :-)

There is no standard way to make contact inactive if contact is person. Eventually, you can use Questions and Answers on contact card subform for it.

I think, the better solution is to make minor customization and add new option field on contact card, with options: Active and Inactive.
