SSRS report parameters duplicating

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

Hi All,

I have developed a new SSRS report that works well but at the last minute I changed the labels that show in the dialog box for the parameters.  Now I can't get rid of the old descriptions and both the new labels and old labels still appear.

I deleted the duplicates from the VS report editor Parameter area and if I look/run the report from VS the paramters only appear once but if I run it from AX I have them twice in the dialog box.

I have tried Clean the report, rebuild and deploy from within VS with no difference.  I then did Tools-> Cache -> the data dictionery cache and the report server cache refresh the deploy from AX and no difference.   The CIL says it is done. I then restarted the AOS and redeployed the report and still can't get rid of the original parameter duplicates.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paulina

Hi Paulina, Do you have exported backup of your report file? Duplicates parameters is maybe difficult to find the location especially if I'm beginner or starter on customization.

Import if you have the exported file.

Just an advice. backup first before editing anything else or use Export it if specific objects.

    Hi Paulina,

You can also restore the report in AX and deploy the report. Parameters are little bit hard to refresh sometimes. Try all the necessary step you can, if there is no result. Final step is to duplicate the contract class and delete existing the contract class, change all the contract names in respective places and deploy the report.

Solved my problem - you don't need to delete or restore the complete report.  In Visual studio the parameters are shown on each dataset.  You need to delete the paramters on each dataset - even if the parameter is not related to that dataset.  Refreshing/restoring etc from AX does not change these so you need to do it in VS.  Then Build / deploy and make sure you update the AOT.
