Recently we have been getting the following error when trying to filter in numerical columns. It will not allow people to put in a number, yet we can sort lowest/highest. We have been using the Edit filters as a work around.
The change to New Look and the changes to how views filter data is a very bad enhancement. New view filtering, or lack thereof, does not retrieve all the information, which is a really big problem.
This has a significant impact on how our organisation uses Views and filtering!
Views are used extensively across our CRM for ad-hoc style reporting and analysis, also assisting operational processes. This information used in account management and sales opportunities helps determine and create leads that turn into sales revenue and growth for our company.
Yes, we have sales pipeline management and processes for the purists out there but views are a great tool. Limiting the data and filtering then does not show all available information. This impacts how the Charts functions work. This impacts how and when using Power BI 'Visualise this view'.
We've had a similar problem. It affected all our customers on CRM11 tenancies.
There are two solutions.
Here's the solution we got from a Microsoft engineer "As discussed, Filter by is not working on Numeric columns like currency etc on Read only grid (By default) control which is an old control and that will be deprecated in the future releases. we have introduced a new control called "Power apps grid control" recently in Wave 2 release and after adding the "Power apps Grid control" on the work order entity, we were able to filter the records on the numeric columns without any issues."
We tried this and changing to the new Power apps Grid control fixed the problem
The second option is to use the New Look toggle at the top of your Dynamics screen. The also removes the problem. We've not investigated how it removes the problem, though, I assume it changes the grid in some way
1. Nothing is greyed out, but as soon as we type a number it gives that error "Please enter value"
2. I have tried different fields and entities, everything works properly until there is a numerical value field, as stated above, as soon as you start typing a number it gives that error, this happens in all entity numerical fields.
3. This has been happening for all users.
4. We have tried it in different browsers, and cleared all cache. I have even tested this in our Sandbox and it does the same thing.
5. It was working previously, but noticed it started acting up a month or so ago.
1. Have you tried filtering with other functions? Also all greyed out?Show the same information?
2.Tried other fields of the same type? Of the same entity? Different entities?
3.All users? or only some users?
4.Have you tried to change other browsers? or clear cache of the current browser?
5.It was normal before, just recently appeared?
