How do I send a custom activity to the opportunity timeline?

I have a custom action.

If something has changed in it, I want to somehow send this action to the timeline to these entities: opportunity, project, account, employee, and others. (Entities involved in this action. I have a text editor there with the ability to mention different entities.)
At first, I suggested using the "to" field in the party list for this. But there are not all the entities that I need. only contacts, account and users.

Is there any way that I can use the plugin to collect all the entities that are mentioned in my text editor and send this activity to everyone in their timeline?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

You should be able to do this via a simple workflow.

The trigger should be On Change for the specific field.

You then add a create function and choose Note.

The Regarding on the Note is automatically set up. You can add more values, free text and whatever you decide on the note itself.

What this would do is create the note automatically and add it to the timeline on the record, for everyone to review.

My advise is to create the same logic (workflow) for each and every entity. That way you would avoid system jobs clogging up, causing performance issues.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Kind regards,

    Georgi

    Hi Kirsan

I believe activity feeds should help with this - docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-activity-feeds

You need to review the documentation in order to implement this successfully.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks for the answers, but this is not suitable for my problem.

In my custom activity i have a text editor. In this editor i can mentioned many different entities. I want to push in the timeline this activity everyone who was in it.

Now I have chosen the option to create a sub-grid for all the necessary entities. In the activity use the special entity "Connection". And add all the mentioned entities to this "connection". And in the sub-grid show all related activities.
