We have created an extension on the sales line table and create 5 field in the range of 50000 to 50004.

Now we have created an Sales Order (1001) and entered data in these field also, one user uses copy document functionality  in his order (1002) and selects the document type as order and selects the order which i have created (1001).

When he clicks OK, system does not fill in the data which have been available in the customized field to the new order using copy document function.

So my question is that, why did the data did not got transferred from order 1001 to 1002 as the field id , data type is same.

Well, I think it is because the copy document functionality probably does not use transferfields. (and transferfields is used to copy data from different tables.)

You will need to extend that functionality. There's probably an event that you can use to do that.

The copy document functionality is handled by a report: 292 - Copy Sales Document and codeunit 6620 - Copy Document Mgt.

It should. The copy document function uses the TRANSFERFIELD, so theoretically it will copy the new field as well.

Check Report 292 and codeunit 6620 Copy Document Mgt., there might be modification to clear that field when using the copy document function.
