Revenue recognition - Revenue Schedules

Hi All,

We have a requirement to setup the revenue recognition module with revenue schedules which occur, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and year.

As per the example below, if we had a $12,000 invoice line, the corresponding amounts to be recognized would occur on these months.

It seems the setup of the revenue schedules are purely based on a monthly recognition over a specified amount of periods.

Has anyone had this requirement before and figured out a way to do this without customisation?

Thanks for the help!!

    Hello Mark,

Your example seems to require a customization.

Yet, before going ahead with that can you let us know more about your invoice line?

Based on the example provided, I would expect to see actually 3 lines, which would allow you handling things in the standard.

What is included in this single $12000 line?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I think you're correct, we would require a customization.

I considered splitting the lines but I ran into a couple more roadblocks which would also require customization.

    1. The line on the invoice for the customer is required to print out as $12,000. Splitting the lines means we would need to group them on the business document. We may even require a field to help us group.

    2. We're required to invoice the full $12,000 immediately. The revenue schedule on the sales order line does not seem to have a trigger date so we would need a date field to stagger the start dates.

    3. We are creating orders through integration, it's likely we'll need to extend the data entities.

As always, thank you for your help!

I'll set your response as the suggested answer.

    Mark
