Lean manufacturing setup: "Number sequence reference is missing!"

Hi,

We're using Ax 2012. I'm trying to set up a Lean Manufacturing system to get a Kanban system running. I'm following some documentation I found on the web, and I'm now setting up my first production flow. I'm following this instructional video from Lachlan Cash, which is very good.

https://organicax.com/2016/09/07/lean-production-flow-for-simple-manufacturing-step/

But when I get to the end of the Wizard which configures an activity for my production flow, I'm stuck.

(In the video, this is around 3:06, where the wizard is succesfully finished).

I get this error: "Numbers could not be generated because a number sequence reference is missing.  Ensure that all necessary number sequences are set up."

I think possibly there is no number sequence set up for the activity, so Ax doesn't know which number to give to it?

But where do I set this up?

How do I do this?

Any help is much appreciated!

Adriaan

To elaborate (don't know if this is any help): these are the number sequences in my Production control parameters

and these are the number sequences, filtered on *activ* in the Organisation Administration > Number Sequences.

    Thanks, Adriaan

Well, I just found a solution.

I pushed the Generate button in Organisation administration > Common > Number sequences > Number sequences.

This gave me a "critical STOP error", and then access to a Wizard to create Number sequences. I just pushed Next, Next, Next... on the Wizard. He decided to create about 6000+ new number sequences. This took about 5 minutes (time for some coffee).

When I got back from coffee and tried again to get my activity defined, I could now succesfully finish the New version activity Wizard. (Hurray, time for some pizza...!)

However, I do wish I'd understand exactly what I've done...
