Query for opportunities for parent as well as child accounts

Using this example below if I search for opportunities for Parent Account and Child accounts it only shows opportunities for Child accounts and now the parent account itself.

What is the way we can get opportunities for both parent as well child accounts in the same query?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Try following steps:

Open Advanced Find and look for Opportunities.

Add condition Status equals Open.

Add condition Account Under Fabrikam Inc.

Save the view (this is crucial), once you save it short-hand query (Under) will be converted to full query.

Now, in the Accounts Contains Data section, add another condition Account equals Fabrikam Inc.

Select the both Account conditions and click Group OR.

Run and review the results.

Please note, trick is to save the view after adding Account under 'Fabrikam Inc.' The or condition will give results from both Fabrikam Inc. and its child accounts.

Thanks for your reply.

I tried your method

first assigned account under X and tried saving it but getting this error saying the condition was referencing to the field account id . The field has been removed.

Then I tried without saving and grouping but then I got error for short hand and long hand definition.

Not sure what wrong I am doing here.

Appreciate your help.
