Deploy AX2009 SP1 on SQL 2012 and Windows 2012

Can someone tell me the procedure to deploy AX2009 SP1 on SQL2012 and Windows 2012. Presently, the application sits on SQL 2008 and windows 2008. I do not want to go with Rollup8 hotfix upgrade. Is there an alternative?

Hi DevInspirer,

1. In Windows Server 2012. Apply SQL Server 2012 (make sure your SQL is compatible with win 2012).
3. Back up AX DB on the old server.
4. All prerequisites for installing AX on a new server.
5. Install AX applications.
6. Restore the backup AX DB to the new server and restart the server.

Hi Blue Wang,

As per AX2009 system requirements,

Windows Server 2012 R2, Standard Edition

or Datacenter Edition is supported with

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1

with Rollup 8 and the hotfix.

I do not want to apply Rollup8. Can I still deploy AX2009 SP1 to SQL 2012 and Windows Server 2012?

Well, it's not supported if the documentation says so. Do you (or your customer) want to setup the system in an unsupported way? It might work, but might not.

Hi Devlnspirer,

My point of view is the same as Nikolaos's.
Since the document is required to have it explicitly, it may not be available.

Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition is supported With Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 with Rollup 8 and the hotfix from Knowledge Base article 2836535.

You can contact Microsoft to see if there are other ways.
